A nova história segue os esforços dos membros da Monarch, que enfrentam vários monstros gigantescos, incluindo o poderoso Godzilla, que confronta Mothra, Rodan e seu inimigo final, o rei de três cabeças Ghidorah. E todos esses seres antigos, onde se pensou que seriam meros mitos, eles ressurgem. Assim, todos os monstros disputam a supremacia deixando a humanidade pendurada em um equilíbrio.

O elenco conta com Kyle Chandler (Bloodline), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Randy Havens (Stranger Things), Zhang Ziyi (O Tigre e o Dragão), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) e Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley).

Godzilla: King of the Monster tem estreia prevista para março de 2019.
